November 16 – January 19, 2026 at Mid Sweden University in Östersund and online

Join doctoral students from across the Nordics for an intensive, research-focused doctoral course in entrepreneurship, hosted by Mid Sweden University in Östersund, in cooperation with Åbo Akademi, University of Inland Norway, and Nord University.

The course brings together different perspectives on entrepreneurship research, including entrepreneurship in rural and peripheral regions, gender, diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship, AI and entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and the changing role of universities in entrepreneurial and societal development. The course is taught by researchers from a wide range of universities, not only the four partner institutions.

Format

Digital welcome session online 16 Nov 10.00-11.00, on-site intensive week in Östersund 30 November to 4 December 2026,  online paper opposition 18–19 January 2027. Beyond lectures, the course is built for genuine interaction: breakout discussions, peer feedback, a study visit to a local entrepreneurial hub, international group workshops, and roundtables with faculty from four Nordic universities — designed to spark new research connections that last well beyond the course itself.

Examination

Assessment is based on an individual course paper, in which students deepen their engagement with one or more thematic areas covered by the course. Papers are due 11 January 2027. Each course participant will act as opponent for a fellow doctoral student’s paper during the online sessions on 18–19 January 2027.
